Glacier National Park – This was taken from Going-to-the-Sun Road heading west. Clements Mountain is on the left and Mt. Oberlin to the right. You can just make out the visitors center in front of Mt. Oberlin. It took Debbie and I 3 days to drive here from Indianapolis. We fell in love with this park immediately.
Yellowstone National Park – I love the Hayden Valley in Yellowstone. It is a vast open prairie with herds of buffalo. Every once and a while, you may get lucky and see a wolf. Debbie and I spent a lot of time enjoying the sun and bison in this magical place. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to the North, Yellowstone Lake to the south, and forest and mountains all around. I think this is Elk Antler Creek with the Yellowstone River behind me.
Fiesole, Italy – Holy Water - The word “Sanctuary” can mean many different things to different people. This was truly a sanctuary. By the time I reached the monastery of San Francisco, I had already left the busy street through the center of Fiesole onto a sun drenched mountain top with other tourists. Inside the sanctuary, all was calm. All was quiet. I had the place most to myself. Here is the sacrarium containing Holy Water. With the blue light pouring in from the sunlit side of the church, I know this would be a great HDR shot. The light on the floor got a little on the extreme end, but a beautiful image none the less.
